Madre Grande Monastery was founded December, 1975, San Diego County, California.
The Lovellight Order is being founded now in St Lawrence County, New York.
Monasteries
do not have to
have the drab and withdrawn connotation
they have in the popular mind. They don't have to be places of
austerity or celibacy. You do not have to lose yourself in prayer to
the eternal. You do not even have to worship or believe the same as do
your brothers and sisters of the monastery. There are monasteries where
all these things can be had, if they are things you want or need.
However, they are not the things that make a community into a monastery.
To
us, a monastery is a community of monks, male and female, single or
coupled, that shares self-imposed norms, that
provides industry
free of stress, and promotes growth in all aspects of one's being.
There must be a higher purpose. The monas in monastery
is Greek
indicating "unity." The Unity is the group mind of the Monks. This is
the monastery.
Our headquarter monastery
is in Dulzura, Southern California, US, close to Tecate, Mexico.
It is known as Madre Grande Monastery, since the mountain peak that we
own is named Mother Grundy Mountain.

Madre
Grande Monastery 
This is sacred, ancient land and the earlier residents left ample signs of their presence. We hold this land as sacred to the feminine principle, Madre Grande, the Great Mother, Kwan Yin, Shekhinah, Gaia,.... It is the sister mountain and right eye of Cuchama, one of the Sacred Mountains written about in Sacred Mountains by Evans-Wentz. It is the home of the Monks and a place of retreat for its members and Friends.

Lovelight Order
The LoveLight Order exists solely to manifest the dream of its founders for a true spiritual center and potent source of Divine healing energy located in the pristine Adirondack forest.
We are actively engaged in building:
